Get involved in StoRIES and become part of its research and industrial energy storage eco-system

StoRIES is a Research and Innovation Action (RIA) coordinated by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT, that aims to create a research and industrial energy storage ecosystem. Would you like to get involved in the StoRIES eco-system? Here are three ways to do that.

In Ostrobothnia, bringing society into the process of accelerating and decentralizing energy production to connect local energy solutions has been recognised as critical for the regional energy transition. The journey towards carbon neutrality in Ostrobothnia, getting rid of the use of fossil fuels and basing the energy systems on green renewable energy, is connected to a need to work in new ways to engage different societal group in finding energy solutions based on local resources.

Placing citizens at the heart of energy innovation: Extremadura sustainable energy transition vision

In order to achieve the changes desired for 2040, new spaces, tools and resources with which citizens can play a leading role in the definition of the Extremadura energy transition are needed, in order to facilitate the identification of the main social challenges in the field of energy and favoring the development of new, fairer and more sustainable solutions, paying special attention to the Energy Communities Models..

2040 sees a much-changed energy ecosystem for the Outer Hebrides which better meets local needs and utilises the world class energy resources and pioneering communities of the region. Current strengths of the Islands such as community ownership and energy innovation have been retained whilst dramatic progress has been made on energy issues that have hampered local development, such as inconsistent stakeholder collaboration, limited grid resilience, grid constraints and fuel poverty.

Climate change and increase in energy costs, perspectives and strategies for EU SMEs

The INNOVEAS project is an initiative to build and deliver a capacity building programme, aiming at addressing the major non-technical barriers that most often hamper the adoption the energy auditing practice, in particular among those actors, such as Small and Medium Enterprises where such audits are not required by law.

Today, many people still don’t know what community energy is and the benefits it can offer in collectively addressing climate and social challenges. Spreading the word about community energy is thus an important aspect of leading the transition to energy democracy.

Complementing the publication “Community Energy - A practical guide to reclaiming power”, this guide produced by Energy Cities and REScoop.eu will help you to kick off communication and engagement activities for the development of local community energy projects.

Renewable energy made easy: Massive Open Online Course

The European Citizen Energy Academy (EUCENA) project has launched its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC): Renewable energy made easy.

The course aims at empowering participants with knowledge on how to produce their own renewable energy and get an insight into energy communities working on solar and wind energy production.

On the 28th March 2022, RIPEET joined the Research Exhibition of Energy at the Vaasa Energy Week, the most significant international networking and sales event for the energy sector in the Nordic countries. The Energy Week focused on renewable energies, smart energy, gas energy and energy storage. Topics of interest included digitalization, batteries and storage, circular economy, future smart cities, energy regulation, business and innovation.
