Within the framework of the RIPEET project, partners from Ostrobothnia are hosting an event to hear about the latest developments and policy recommendations regarding energy communities in Finland and related opportunities for the regional energy transition in Ostrobothnia.

About the Key note speaker:

Tapio Tuomi is Executive director of the Finnish Clean Energy Association (Suomen Lähienergialiitto ry). His responsibilities include producing and disseminating information related to local energy as well as developing the operating environment of companies in the field e.g. by issuing statements on regulatory changes in the energy sector. Tuomi was a member of the Finnish Energy community working group appointed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, which recently published the final report http://urn.fi/URN:ISBN:978- 952-327-653-6) assessing the benefits of distributed energy communities and proposing concrete measures for active participation in the electricity market.

The event will be arranged in English onsite in Wasa Innovation Center. It is free of charge and open to all registered participants. The seminar is organized by the Horizon 2020 funded RIPEET project (www.ripeet.eu) The event is an excellent opportunity for networking with regional and international actors and for getting to know the local energy initiatives supported by the project in three European regions.
