What to expect from the live training session?

What is co-creation in energy transition? How can co-creation enable and mainstream energy citizenship? How can we co-create sustainable energy solutions with local communities and citizens? Which are the barriers and enablers to co-creation in energy transition?

The energy transition requires large and meaningful citizenry engagement. Co-creation processes in energy actions have the potential to foster and mainstream the emergence of energy citizenship and community energy actions. However, local governments and citizens face a number of barriers when trying to establish co-creation processes for energy actions.

The goals of this session are i) to provide an understanding of the role and potential of co-creation and collaborative governance in energy actions ii) explore how policy-makers and market actors recognize and make the most out of citizens´ knowledge and agency and iii) provide examples of participatory planning and implementation of energy actions from local governments.

The session is part of the Community Energy Academy training programme (communityenergyacademy.eu). The session will be facilitated by ICLEI Europe and Wroclaw University of Economics and Business as part of the EC2-project and is organized in collaboration with the RIPEET Project.
